  • Good reliable SUV - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I bought the car in 2006 with 18,000 miles on it. It now has 95,000. I have not had any mechanical problems. This SUV is one of the smoothest riding vehicles I have been in. Power is good and it is holding up well to the wear and tear. No visible rust. Gas mileage is poor at best. I had been getting between 17-16 mpg around town and 18-19 on the hwy. However, now I am below 13mpg. It may be caused by the lack of driving. I have a company car now so it only gets short trips here and there. Also it tows very well. I pull a boat on occasion and can hardley tell it is behind me. I would recommend this car to friends. To

  • Better Styling, Less Comfort - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Great looking car, but nowhere near as comfortable as my previous model Grand Cherokee.

  • Air Problems - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Florida is not where you would normally roll your windows down in July, but dont! It hurts your ears, just like a lousy airplane cabin. I took it to the dealership. They test drove (I thought one of my back tires was bad); the mechanic said it was a poor design -- wind tunnel tested with window up only, not down. With the back seat windows down there is no place for the air to go, it is absolutely horrible!

  • more fun than my c5 corvette - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ijust puschased a 05 laredo and i cant believe how great this suv is. driving for my job ive had an envoy and a 04 jeep over the last 4 years. I loved the 04 jeep in the snow but hated the looks and the body roll in turns and the seats of the o4 would roll you around..this 05 is quiet better on gas and it has great looks, a great interior and to be honest is more gun than our c5 corvette..and believe me we love our corvette..in facy the wheels are the same as the 97 98 99 corvette style..this jeep will sell like hotcakes ..its fresh we got the kakai green pearlcoat and its beautiful..the sound system is as good as bose and the adjustable pedals are the best...buy this jeep you wont be sorry.

This is the fourth Jeep we have owned and each time we buy a Jeep we think to ourselves that we will never have a better vehicle to drive. We have a bright red Limited with the GPS system but what really sold my husband on this Jeep was the Hemi motor. It is by far the best vehicle we have ever owned!

Have been driving the 3.7 version for almost two years. Towed a fully loaded 5x8 enclosed trailer weighing 2000 lbs across the country with no problems in the mountains. Turn radius in parking lot is similar to small car. Power steering works great when at full stop. Spark plugs are difficult to replace, but not impossible. Climate control is quick to respond.

I bought the JGC LTD (5.7 Hemi) in Missouri and drove it home to FL. So far, so great! Its a blast to drive and the new model year suspension is very smooth. As expected, the fuel economy is not great but that isnt why one buys a SUV. Ive now driven over 1,400 miles and I cant say its anything less than expected. And its a head turner to beat.

  • My First SUV is a Jeep - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I looked a lot of vehicles and then I bought the Laredo with the X package. I drove two Limiteds (one with the Hemi), before deciding that I didnt want all that chrome on the outside with a wood interior on the inside. I got it with the 4.7 V8 and it has plenty of power. Unless you need to tow "bigger stuff" the 4.7 is plenty good and fun. It handles wonderfully well and doesnt "feel" as big as it is. Its very nimble and can make very nice (legal) U-turns. With the cornucopia of a la carte options you can really get the Jeep YOU want. Its both a blessing and a curse as figuring out what you can get and what you do get can sometimes be confusing. Do your homework BEFORE you go out.

I was so happy when I first purchased my Cherokee. Brand new off the lot, it was shortly after I started having problems. Tranny, rack & pinion, etc... The dealer, no matter which one I took it to was so bad I had to start taking it to a paid mechanic who himself states he sees too many of these in the shop. After I had my baby I had a terrible time with his car seat and the back. I was so disappointed as this is supposed to be a family car. NO! I dont even feel safe with him in the car now... its having back electrical problems causing interior lights to flash, no starts and weird smells. I am DONE WITH THIS THING! I have lost nearly double what this originally cost and wont get it back.

  • This is fun to drive! - 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This GC is just plain fun to drive! Its interior is comfortable, has all the toys to make the drive a real treat. I have the Sirius Satellite radio and absolutely love it! I got a great deal on a 2 year lease and jumped at it since Ive heard both good and bad about the GC reliability of previous years. Mine will remain under warranty for the duration of the lease. I expected poor gas mileage and am getting it.
